Registered Nurse – Emergency & Acute Wards | Queenstown, TAS



Contract: 8–12 weeks | Start Date: 14 April 2026

Location: West Coast District Hospital, Queenstown, Tasmania



Are you an experienced Registered Nurse ready for a Tasmanian adventure?

West Coast District Hospital is seeking a dynamic RN to join their team across ED and acute wards.

This is a rare opportunity to work in a versatile role where your clinical expertise and leadership will shine.

• Work across Emergency Department and acute wards, including 10 acute care beds, 16 nursing home beds, A&E, and a fully equipped medical centre.
• Take charge with leadership responsibility, overseeing patient care and ward coordination.
• Experience Tassie’s wild and beautiful West Coast – explore the West Coast Wilderness Railway, hike Mt. Owen, visit Spion Kopf Lookout, tour historic mines, cruise the Gordon River, explore local art galleries, and immerse yourself in the stunning scenery.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 4 years ED experience.
• ALS, triage, and resus skills essential.
• Proven ability to work in charge, making clinical decisions across ED and ward settings.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

What’s on Offer:

• Agency rates up to $70/hr + penalties + super
• Free shared accommodation within walking distance or $450/week towards alternate sourced accommodation
• Travel allowance
